Educational Attainment in Rural Areas
The main aims of this project were to assess whether there are true differences in educational attainment at key stages three and four between rural and urban areas, to explore factors that particularly affect attainment in rural areas, to quantify how much of the variation in attainment between rural and urban areas is due to differences between individuals, between schools and between local authorities and to describe differences in attainment between English regions and the factors that may explain these differences.
